My life is such a mess
Deciding between hypocrites and friends
Carefully looking for traps set out by them
Every thought rethought and carefully attended.
Every joy examined with a fear of paranoia
Every grief subdued to let out no hysteria
Trying to remain in my senses, whatever befalls
Trying to laugh in the presence of these all
Those that would appear as friends
Ever willing to lend a hand and make amends
But I cannot trust them, no more
They aren't the same as they were before
And every day, I sense trouble in every step
Like there are foxes in a rooster's cage.
